TAY SAFE FROM SCAMS
There are quite a few people who have been and are regularly receiving messages, emails, and calls pretending to be employees of the Department of Home Affairs.
Most of those messages, emails and calls have one thing in common: they aim at your fears. They often tell you that there are errors in your application or even that you have submitted bogus evidence... They will often ask you to provide your personal information.
Using many sophisticated methods, they will ask you to perform operations such as pressing certain numbers, or prolonging the call to ask AI technology to copy your voice.
JL Migration & Education will show you the following notes to stay safe from fraudulent activities:
- The case officers will never ask for credit card information, bank details or request urgent payments over the phone...!
- When receiving a call from someone claiming to be an employee of the Department of Home Affairs, you have the right to request to read the application ID, date of application or your full name to check the authenticity.
- Please immediately notify your family, friends or legal representative for a suitable solution.
- You can also report cases of fraud and claiming to be employees of the Department of Home Affairs to appropriate property or other illegal acts via the link: www.scamwatch.gov.au/report-a-scam
Take advantage of meeting time on weekends or after work to chat about issues similar to the topics in this article. This will be really helpful for your friends and relatives. Especially in the aspect of joining hands to build a community, this has even greater value. Please notify JL Migration & Education immediately if you or your relatives have encountered similar problems.
